Liza and Ru

It was such a treat being back in Glencoe for Liza & Ru’s magical elopement. Surrounded by their loved ones they tied the knot in amongst the forest of Glencoe Lochan. The ceremony led by Alyson the Humanist was full of wonderful moments and emotion, with tears of joy and hugging aplenty! After confetti and champagne we headed into the hills to explore and take in the majestic scenery, finishing our shoot with a sunset stroll along the beach at Cuil Bay. I must give a big shout out to Barbara aka Wild Flower Workshop, for creating the most stunning bouquet and buttonhole for Liza & Ru, and Liza’s sister Alie for designing and creating her beautiful wedding dress, which I’m sure you’ll all agree she looked amazing in.

Kate and Mike

My lovely cousin Kate and her equally lovely partner Mike decided to plan a top secret elopement to the North West Coast of Scotland at the incredible Shieldaig Lodge, and I was so chuffed to be asked along to capture it for them. I was under strict orders to keep it under my hat and not tell any nosey family members, but when they finally broke the news and shared their photos it was so lovely to hear how happy everyone was for them.

The day was full of special moments, and the wonderful personal touches and attention to detail made it even more magical. The morning started in rather energetic fashion with a paddle boarding expedition round the bay, accompanied (begrudgingly!) by Kate’s gorgeous wee dog Leni. After admiring the incredible birds of prey in front of the hotel and warming up with a nice cup of coffee it was time for the main event. Kate & Mike both looked amazing in their fabulous outfits, with Kate going for a simple, but elegant silk dress along with a really cool pair of personalised converse, and Mike, his super smart Royal Marine attire. The ceremony was every bit as perfect as the setting, with wonderful personal vows and Whiskey drinking from the quaich. It was really important from Kate & Mike’s perspective to make the day as personal as possible, so having Russell (a Royal Marine Padre from Arbroath) there to conduct the ceremony made it even more special.

We then spent a lovely afternoon eating cake, chatting and exploring the hills and beaches around Badachro. The perfect end to the most amazing day.

Sarah and Matt

It was so lovely being back at one of my favourite old haunts Colstoun House for Sarah & Matt’s gorgeous summer wedding celebrations. Sarah looked stunning in her beautiful Halfpenny dress which worked perfectly alongside the pastel pink bridesmaids dresses and fabulous summery bouquets by the always amazing Feathergrass Florals. I must give an honourable mention to Matt and his groomsmen, who all looked rather dapper in the super sharp suits! After a lovely relaxed morning getting ready and drinking a glass or two of champagne, it was time for the main event, the most wonderful outdoor ceremony on the lawn where I happened to witness one of my all time favourite wedding moments…. Being a huge dog fan I’m always delighted to see a dog charging around on the morning of a wedding day, and I was even happier to hear that Sarah & Matt’s gorgeous Labrador Molly was going be acting as a ring bearer during the ceremony. Molly not only did the perfect job of delivering the rings, but then decided to act as a witness as well, sitting perfectly whilst Sarah & Matt exchanged their vows. It was always going to be hard to top that, but the confetti, champagne, canapés, amazing speeches and packed dance floor that followed came mighty close! This really was the most magical wedding day, thanks so much for inviting me along guys!

Harriet and Adam

This was my first time shooting at the fabulous Errol Park and what a day it was! Harriet & Adam’s wedding celebrations were so full of joy and laughter that it was impossible not to have a huge smile on your face all day long! Despite a rather drizzly start to the day, they decided to brave the elements and opted for an outdoor ceremony in a beautiful corner of the garden conducted by the amazing Gary the Humanist. Drinks, canapés and some hotly contested lawn games in the sunshine followed. It was then over to the wonderful converted stables for a cracking round of speeches, the most delicious wedding feast, and to round things off in true Scottish style, a rabble rousing ceilidh. The day had so many highlights, but capturing Harriet & Adam walking hand in hand underneath a rainbow was pure magic! Needless to say I’m super excited to be back at Errol for a wedding this summer, if it’s anything like this one I’m in for a treat.

Emily and Doug

Emily & Doug’s fabulous wedding day in the heart of Edinburgh was an absolute joy from beginning to end. After the most wonderful ceremony atop Calton Hill overlooking the city, it was time for music, drinks and some pretty epic group photos in the glorious summer sunshine. We then made our way to one of my all time favourite Edinburgh spots - Timberyard to carry on the celebrations. A cracking set of speeches in the courtyard was followed by an amazing five course dinner, with every course looking like a work of art. The day was finished off with a wander round the magical Grassmarket for some photos, then back to Timberyard to dance the night away! This really was the most wonderful day, and being there to capture Emily & Doug having the best time with their lovely family and friends was so special.
